About Christian Orth

Dr. Christian Orth is a leading expert in sustainability reporting, auditing, and corporate governance. As the EY Global Sustainability Reporting and Assurance Solution Leader and Chair of the EY EMEIA ESG Reporting Committee, he has played a key role in the development of the CSRD gap assessment tool. With extensive experience as the lead audit partner for global accounts and major conversion projects, Dr. Orth is a recognized thought leader, having published over 100 works in the fields of accounting, auditing, corporate governance, and sustainability.

He is actively involved in shaping global standards as a member of the IAASB and IESBA consultative advisory groups, as well as Accountancy Europe’s Auditing and Assurance Policy Group. Dr. Orth also contributes to academia as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ulm, Germany, specializing in auditing and sustainability reporting.

Dr. Orth holds a PhD in Auditing and Corporate Governance from the University of Mannheim, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bielefeld, and is a certified Public Accountant and Tax Advisor in Germany.
