About Elena Arveras

Elena Arveras is the member of Cabinet Albuquerque responsible for Sustainable Finance portfolio since December 2024. Previously she worked at DG FISMA at the European Commission since the publication of the Commission’s Action Plan on Sustainable Finance in 2018. Her field of expertise has been sustainability reporting, working in different policymaking initiatives such as the revision of the Non-financial Reporting Directive and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. She was also responsible for the SFDR implementation and review since mid 2022. She started her career in the banking and consumer goods industry in Germany, working in management controlling and treasury. She studied Law and Business Administration at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Madrid), including abroad studies in Georg August University Gottingen and WU Wien.
